Seven artists exploring notions of sustainability along the fringes of photography, sculpture, and painting. Intersecting with notions of sustainability, All Natural highlights ways that each individual extends beyond boundaries to produce provocative and experimental results. With many never-before-seen works created for All Natural, the selection will take viewers on a journey from desert to ocean to mountain, exhibiting unorthodox uses of media such as encaustic wax, rock, minerals, precious metals, textile, clay, and other materials sourced from the natural environment. Opening reception will include a live dance in the form of “durational practice” supported by ArtsAliveSDSU in the gallery.

Meet the artists and mingle as you view the exhibition. During the reception, SDSU dance students and local dance professionals will perform a “durational practice” in our gallery. This performance/practice requires a physical commitment to a single activity for one hour, extending the dancers’ technical abilities and focusing their attention on the change of state occurring during the performance, both as individuals and as a group. This Durational Performance is part of a series supported by ArtsAliveSDSU.

Artists include SDSU School of Art + Design alumni Stephanie Bedwell and Jennifer Anne Bennett, as well as scott b. davis, Roman de Salvo, John Oliver Lewis, Jessica McCambly, Meghann Riepenhoff.
