2014 Fall Foodie Soirée

The Fall 2014 Foodie Soirée was a great success! Since 2011 Vanguard Culture has been mixing up San Diego’s arts & culture community with the stars of the local culinary scene. Events take place in private homes of artists, art collectors, and other arts patrons with unique spaces.

Our latest event took place in the beautiful artsy residence of Vanguard Culture Advisory Board Member and visual artist Chi Essary and scientist John Reynolds. This gorgeous Spanish-style home sits on the edge of a beautiful canyon view and features an eclectic mix of fine art and scientific musings.

The guest list included a wonderful mix of foodies, musicians, actors, tango dancers, museum folks, visual artists, writers and the people who love them.

In celebration of delicious food, great wine and creative people everyone was asked to bring a favorite culinary creation. As usual, our guests did not disappoint!

Savory dishes:

Event Highlights:

An intimate performance by Kate Hatmaker, violinist with the San Diego Symphony and her wonderful team of musicians from the Art of Élan...

…a mesmerizing and ethereal performance by the talented electric violinist Jamie Shadowlight accompanied by multimedia artist XavaZ

…and a whimsical yet thought-provoking performance by The Animal Cracker Conspiracy. This intimate adult puppetry experience had the audience completely transfixed.

Thanks to everyone who contributed their culinary talent and creative genius towards this wonderful evening. We hope to see you at our next event!
