The Breath Project’s Virtual Fall Festival features a selection of the 8-minute-and-46-second theatrical works, all created by BIPOC artists, that exist on the TBP Archive. The artists who submitted pieces to this living time capsule have striven to capture something of this moment in history. Each performance of the Festival will feature different pieces from the Archive, as well as live commentary by TBP Curators, and a Q&A with the artists, immediately following the performance. Every dollar that you donate to this event will be given directly to the contributing artists and volunteer curators. In partnership with San Diego Repertory Theatre and 23 other theater companies across the country, the free festival will feature 24 world premiere works created by multidisciplinary theater artists of color. In the wake of the death of George Floyd, the 8 minutes and 46 second time frame has become a symbol for the racial injustice faced by countless members of the Black community across the United States.
