11/27 – 12/6: The Nutcracker

A corner of the Liberty Station neighborhood will transform into an open-air theater for seven afternoon showings of the beloved seasonal production! As cherished holiday traditions converge with pandemic-era pivots, San Diego Ballet will be working alongside Liberty Station to stage drive-in performances of The Nutcracker. Ringing in the holiday season, San Diego Ballet Company will present outdoor matinees of The Nutcracker, enchanting Southern California audiences with beautiful sugarplum fairies, leaping cossacks and flurries of snowflakes underneath the San Diego sky. The al fresco auditorium will accommodate 30 parking spots per show, with two rows of offset parking to optimize views of the elevated stage. Attendees are encouraged to bring portable chairs, blankets and other cozy necessities to spectate “tailgate-style” in dedicated parking spots located directly in front of each vehicle. Audience members are also encouraged to support local, neighborhood restaurants in bringing in outside food and beverages.
