Media Arts Center San Diego, producer of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, and Las Americas Premium Outlets present the return of the outdoor Latino film showcase ¡Que Viva Cine Latino!. The ¡Que Viva Cine Latino! outdoor film series will showcase some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed Latino movies from the past 12 months in a unique, outdoor setting. The event will take place every Wednesday in September with live entertainment and art exhibits at the Las Americas Premium Outlets.

Sept. 5: Overboard
Starring Eugenio Derbez and Anna Faris. In this comedy, a spoiled yacht owner is thrown overboard and becomes the target of revenge from his scorned employee. With Eugenio Derbez and Anna Faris.

Sept. 12: El Jeremías
Set in Sonora Mexico, the film tells the story of Jeremías, an eight year old who finds out he is a gifted child and initiates a journey of self discovery.

Sept. 19: Dolores
In the latter half of the 20th century, Dolores Huerta, an influential labor organizer, fought alongside Cesar Chavez for the rights of field laborers in America while refusing to conform to the expectations of her gender. Dolores depicts how Huerta overcame racism, sexism, poverty, inequality, and violence, endured two divorces, raised 11 children, and became one of the most important social justice leaders in American history.

Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor (Gael Garcia Bernal), the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
