Dear Friends & Supporters,
In response to COVID-19, we would like to take a moment to share some thoughts about our values as an organization and why we do what we do. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to advancing San Diego’s Creative Industries, we are carefully monitoring the current status of the coronavirus as it relates to the city’s cultural programming.
We will very intentionally continue to promote and support San Diego’s creative community to the extent possible. Why? Because our city is full of exciting and vibrant cultural activity and its survival matters now more than ever. Because art is what feeds our spirit and makes the hard/mundane days worth the effort. Because when we are stressed or worried, art in all its forms, is what we seek to heal us.
Our programming has always been and will continue to be mindful, flexible, and responsive to the changes and challenges of our contemporary world. This is done through quality arts coverage, cutting edge events, and professional development programs that advance San Diego’s Creative Industries.
The health and safety of our team, patrons, and supporters is of the utmost importance and we will continue to follow guidelines from government agencies and our public health partners, including the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ) Coronavirus Info, California Department of Public Health Info, and San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (Public Health) FAQ & Fact Sheets.
In spite of the stressors of the past two years, I know that we will be stronger as a community and all the more grateful to the creatives who made our quarantine experience not only tolerable, but more meaningful and inspiring.
Please stay safe and inspired. We will get through this. On behalf of the entire Vanguard Culture family, we send all the best to you and your loved ones during this uncertain time.
With tremendous gratitude,
Susanna Peredo Swap
