FOR WHOM IS THIS WORKSHOP? – Professionals from all creative fields and individuals curious about movement or the body itself.- Those interested in maintaining a healthy balance of mind, body and creative spirit.

WHY: To use dance and improvisational movement to provide creative personal and professional development for the community at large. To break sedentary patterns in our daily lives that lead to physical and creative atrophy. Attendees will learn to eliminate fear and self-doubt in their interactions with the world around them, using movement as a catalyst for reaching increased self-awareness.

HOW? By analyzing elements of our existing movement patterns and encouraging conscious action and awareness of the way that we engage with our bodies. We will look deep into questions that analyze our posture, tendencies in movement, internal motivations, and creative purpose.

The FORUM is Vanguard Culture’s Professional Development series designed to support San Diego’s Creative Industries. Our programs range from workshops, to panel discussions, to networking opportunities and are designed to educate participants on the business behind their industry. Participants not only make valuable connections with other creatives, they are also provided with tools, tips, and tricks to help them make a living doing what they love. The FORUM is made possible thanks to funding by The City of San Diego Commission for Arts & Culture, The California Arts Council, and our generous Professional Development Sponsor Jack Lampl.
