In celebration of Pride month, The San Diego Museum of Art is partnering with San Diego Pride and Art of Pride to present Expressions of Pride: On the Steps at SDMA. Expressions of Pride is an experience that brings together artists from multiple disciplines including visual artists, musicians, dancers, and spoken word artists to celebrate the diversity of identities and communities encompassed by Pride.
In honor of Larry Baza and his dedication to art, the community, and bringing Pride to Balboa Park, the Museum is offering free admission* from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 24 for the Expressions of Pride: On the Steps at SDMA. Performances by: DISCO RIOT, Gilbert Castellanos, San Diego Shakespeare Society, Nishi la Tremenda y Sus Aliados. Artist and art-making booths featuring: Art by Betty Bangs, John Keasler, Martin Luera, and other local LGBTQ+ artists
