After five years of renovation, the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diegoβs Flagship location in La Jolla is finally ready to welcome the public. MCASD will reopen with the special exhibition ππͺπ¬πͺ π₯π¦ ππ’πͺπ―π΅ ππ©π’πππ¦ πͺπ― π΅π©π¦ 1960π΄, the first exhibition to survey the experimental work of the French-American artist during this pivotal decade, from the artistβs ππͺπ³π΄, or βshooting paintings,β to the exuberant sculptures of women she called ππ’π―π’π΄. You are invited to experience the new collection galleries, including works from artists such as Ruth Asawa, Lorna Simpson, Robert Irwin, Tschabala Self, John Baldessari, James Luna, and more. Enjoy architectural tours of the Joan and Irwin Jacobs Building designed by Selldorf Architects, picnic in the ocean view Art Park, peruse the new event spaces and outdoor terraces, and celebrate the future of contemporary art in our community. Enjoy a full day of entertainment including DJ, performances by San Diego Ballet highlighting classical dance in its most expressive and dramatic form and Disco Riot a movement-based dance collective, Music by: Jesus Gonzalez and New Orleans Style Brass Band Chunky hustler brass band Food and Beverages available in their Art Park Art & Crafts 11 AM β 3 PM.
