The San Diego Art Institute launches the exhibition Measurements of Progress, with works by the 2021 graduating cohort of artists from the University of California San Diego MFA program. These 12 students delve into the incremental steps of human progress from a historical, contemporary, and speculative vision through an expansive presentation of installation and media-based works throughout the sweeping 6,000 square foot exhibition space in Balboa Park. In order to provide a platform for the professional and creative growth for this year’s MFA students from the University of California San Diego’s Department of Visual Arts, Lux Art Institute, San Diego Art Institute, and UC San Diego have partnered to share the incredible work these students produced despite the limitations, access to facilities, and isolation caused by the pandemic.
