SUMMARY:Future is Color® Studio Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Join Future is Color Studio Sessions and MCASD for our quarterly Jazz Night hosted in MCASD’s Art Park. \n\n\n\nMusic has the power to gather us\, heal us\, and connect us. FUTURE IS COLOR Studio sessions is our weekly live music experience and sonic gathering space rooted on these principles of bringing community together in love. For this special presentation of Studio Sessions\, Future is Color® Studio Sessions is partnering with MCASD for a pop up. SUMMARY:WORKING TITLE
DESCRIPTION:exhibition of experimental art+music\n\n\n\nProject [BLANK]’s annual exhibition returns to close the season with a festival of innovative local art and music. This year’s WORKING TITLE fills the soaring gothic halls of St. Paul’s Cathedral with bold visual art\, multimedia installations\, performance art\, and live experimental music from a diverse group of transborder artists. \n\n\n\nThis year\, WORKING TITLE centers on the theme of Sanctuary. What defines a sacred or protected space? What boundaries—physical\, social\, spiritual—are drawn to offer refuge to those under threat? We invite artists to submit works that engage with sanctuary as a personal experience\, a collective practice\, an architectural condition\, or a political act of resistance. \n\n\n\nAt its center is the world premiere of a major new work by San Diego composer Michelle Lou—a mind-melting composition for voices\, tubas\, pipe organ\, and electronics—surrounded by three days of new works\, installations\, and thought-provoking performances from some of the most exciting creative voices in Southern California\, Tijuana\, and Baja California. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition is curated by sculptor Diana Benavídez and Artistic Director Leslie Ann Leytham\, and artist submissions will be reviewed by a panel of artists: Alessandra Moctezuma\, Alvaro Díaz\, Cat Gunn\, and Luisa Martínez. \n\n\n\nMAY 28 – 30\, 2026\, 6:00 – 9:00 PM → ST. SUMMARY:Brazil
DESCRIPTION:Step into the surreal bureaucratic nightmare of Terry Gilliam’s cult classic Brazil at the next installment of the Burke Revival Film & Discussion Series on May 28\, 2026 at Digital Gym Cinema. Presented at UC San Diego Park & Market\, the acclaimed series pairs iconic films with thoughtful post-screening conversations exploring ethical\, spiritual\, and societal themes through cinema. Equal parts dystopian satire and dark fantasy\, Brazil remains a visually dazzling and eerily relevant meditation on surveillance\, conformity\, and the absurdities of modern life.

SUMMARY:Adult Storytime
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by Eric Garcia’s Uncle Scotchy’s Blues Opera\, also known as The Blues Opera\, Adult Storytime is a stirring collection of autobiographical monologues that explore the hardships and unexpected humor of caring for those we love across every stage of life. Set against a live blues composition that pulses beneath each story\, the piece weaves music and memory into a richly textured theatrical experience. Drawing from her own storied journey as a caregiver to her four children\, including triplets\, to her mother\, and shaped by the voices of relatives\, coworkers\, peers\, and members of the public\, Gobel crafts an intimate mosaic of testimony. Humor lives beside grief. Tenderness shares space with frustration. The result is a portrait of caregiving that is as complex and contradictory as love itself. Throughout the evening\, guests are welcomed to reflect on and share their own stories\, creating a communal space for truth telling and connection. Blending vulnerability with musical virtuosity\, Adult Storytime offers blues through the weight of hesitation\, laughter in recognition\, and perhaps your own story illuminated on stage. \n\n\n\nLight Box Theatre- 2590 Truxtun Rd #205San Diego\, CA 92106
