Celebrating the power of Indigenous storytelling through comics, illustration, and popular culture, Indigi-Con 2026 takes place July 23, 2026 at UC San Diego Park & Market in downtown San Diego. Timed to coincide with Comic-Con week, this free public gathering brings together Indigenous comic book creators, illustrators, authors, cultural bearers, and scholars for an inspiring afternoon of panel discussions, artist talks, and community celebration. Presented by the Indigenous Futures Institute at UC San Diego in collaboration with the Eyaay Ahuun Foundation, Indigi-Con creates a welcoming space where traditional knowledge, contemporary art, and visual storytelling intersect to amplify Indigenous voices and inspire the next generation of creators.

This year’s program features acclaimed Indigenous artists and writers from across North America alongside emerging Native creators, exploring topics ranging from graphic novels and sequential art to cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous futurism. More than a convention, Indigi-Con is a celebration of creativity, community, and the enduring power of storytelling to connect generations and imagine new futures.
