WORKING TITLE

Details

Start:
January 5, 2023 @ 6:00 PM
End:
January 7, 2023 @ 10:00 PM

Returning after a pandemic-induced hiatus, WORKING TITLE is Project [BLANK]’s annual exhibition of experimental art and music. It is a three-day, community-based exhibition of new works by painters, sculptors, sound artists, video artists, performance artists, composers, and musicians from throughout the greater San Diego area and Tijuana. Transforming the public spaces of the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral in Bankers Hill into a living, breathing Sistine Chapel, these local artists will present works that dialogue respectfully and reverently with this beautiful space, while interrogating ideas of ritual, sacredness, and religious belief.

Artists featured include Charles Deluga, sound art; Aaron Mencher, sound and sculpture; Brian Black, performance art and sculpture; Siobhán Arnold, sculpture; Greg Schaefer, sculpture; Allison O. Evans & Nellah Byrd, video and sculpture; Joe Cantrell & Joe Yorty, sound sculpture; Jun!yi Min, performance art; and Lexi Pulido, performance art. Live musical performances by Zane Shrem-Besnoy, voice and electronics; Pruitt Igoe Band, spoken word, synthesizer, guitar, and dance; Peter Ko, cello Melissa Tierra, piano; Tim Gmeiner & Ben Guerrette, synthesizers; and Batya MacAdam-Somer, violin.
