Presented in association with Ars-Electronica, LinzGlass’s first Piano Sonata premiered on July 4, 2019 at Piano Festival Ruhr in Germany in the presence of the composer, performed by long-time collaborator Maki Namekawa. Driven by Glass’s compositional brilliance and the extraordinary musicianship of Namekawa, “Piano Sonata” is both a testament to friendship and a gift to the world. CAP UCLA is thrilled to have the opportunity to host this work, performed by the brilliant pianist for whom it was created.
