Art of Elan presents Grammy Award-winning violinist and producer, Johnny Gandelsman, at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Central in Balboa Park. Johnny will perform “This is America,” a thought-provoking hour of new music for solo violin featuring a diverse lineup of artists and sound worlds with music by Adeliia Faizullina, Christina Courtin and Rhiannon Giddens, among others. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to view the exhibition on view, “Gabriel Rico: Unity in Variety,” the first solo show in California of the contemporary Mexican conceptualist artist. The artist is known for his sculptures, installations, and poetic assemblages that draw on contemporary culture, nature, science, physics, philosophy, and history.
