DYNAMIC | CAPTIVATING | EXPRESSIVE | THOUGHT-PROVOKING | MULTICULTURAL

Firme Voices is a collective of Chicano Poets representing Mexican and American and Mexican-American poets who read and perform in Barrio Logan and throughout San Diego. Modeled after a dance Flash Mob, a group of performance poets, dancers and musicians will spring into what seems to be an impromptu dialogue and performance accompanied by dance movement, digital and live musical accompaniment and dramatic soliloquies and dialogue. Presented in the style of Teatro Campesino or Community Worker Theater where each poet recites a part of dialogue about an idea; performances will incorporate dance, music, and poetry in three languages with a singer and a Chicana poet speaking in Spanish, English and Indigenous Nahauc language.
