Border –Axis Multimedia Stop-Motion Installation

RAW & EDGY | STOP-MOTION VIDEO | LIVE PERFORMANCE | IMMERSIVE | BORDER LIFE

**This experience has strong visual content that may not be suitable for all ages. Ages 16+ recommended.

Border –Axis is a Multimedia Stop-Motion Installation and live performance inside of a Gypsy Theater that looks like a refugee camp. The immersive stop motion animation mimics the artist’s on-the-spot live painting for 3 hours nonstop. Includes video projection and immersive sound. Like a map of two borders that clash. The narratives will be morphing continually like a spinning memory. Border Axis is the place where cultures intertwine.

“This installation is about my life as a migrant as a border crosser. My life as an artist has been always connected with my otherness. The skin, the memory are the identity of a paradoxical palimpsest. Continually morphing and intertwining, like the two sides of myself when crossing from Mexico to U.SA. Back and forth. Crossing the border every day, is not a privilege, it’s a quest that I understand. This stop motion animation installation represents my broken roots.” – Jose Hugo Sanchez
