Pablo Picasso and his friend Casagemas, two poor, young painters from Barcelona, arrive in Paris in 1900 with visions of taking the city by storm. But in a few months tragic events will change their lives forever and lead to Picasso’s Blue Period, a series of breakthrough paintings that Gertrude Stein characterized as “… the foundation of all his subsequent art.”
